Gender and Women’s Studies Utrecht has been very active in different international networks in which it plays an important role. The International Office have been instrumental in establishing, maintaining and applying for funds for network activities.

Our network activities include UNITWIN, an exchange programme with Southern Africa. The Unitwin Student Network is an international network of student groups at Universidade Eduardo Mondlane, (Mozambique), University of Zimbabwe, University of Western Cape, University of Namibia, Lund University (Sweden), Ruhruniversität Bochum (Germany), Universidade do Porto and Utrecht University.

Previous, successful and finished networking projects include Gender, Media and Cultural Studies: Looking for the Missing Links. This scholarly project, completed in 2002, aimed at developing an international and comparative perspective between the Netherlands and Denmark, a critical account of the interaction between media studies, cultural studies and women’s and gender studies within the institutional framework of the humanities.
