One-Year Ph.D. Training in Gender and Women's Studies

2010-2011

The Graduate Gender Programme (GGeP) offers a one-year interdisciplinary programme (10 months) for graduated MA students and Ph.D. students from abroad.

Dates:
The Dutch academic year runs from September to the end of June. The one-year Ph.D. Training starts yearly in September.

Training Package:
Free access to all the GGeP courses and research seminars. Extra fees required only for special master classes and Individual Coaching. All courses are taught in English from multicultural, (Western) European perspectives. See this year's courses.

Pre-requisite for admission:
A Master's degree or the equivalent of a M.A. in gender or gender-related areas. The Centre for International Recognition and Certification of the NUFFIC (Netherlands Organisation for International Cooperation in Higher Education) in The Hague sets the standard for the procedures for the recognition of foreign qualifications. The GGeP Board will make a profound evaluation about the global value of your foreign higher education.

Certificate:
A certificate is issued after completion of each individual course. Please note that this training doesn't officially constitute a M.A. or Ph.D. degree, although an ECTS system is in place.

Tuition fees:
The tuition fee for this programme is Eur. 4500 (including use of internet facilities and university library). Fees are exclusive of room, board and insurance.

Application deadline:
Registration closes on: February 1 (early bird), and April 15 (last call). You'll be informed within 4 weeks after the deadline about the outcome of your application. After completion of this one-year programme, candidates have the option of applying for admission to the regular Ph.D. Degree course. Note that this requires a formal procedure and that admission is not to be taken for granted.

Application forms:
Here you can find the application forms.

Scholarships:
Unfortunately, GGeP doesn't have the possibility to give grants. You can check the following links for more information on scholarships and financial assistance provided by different organisations.
