ATHENA
ATHENA is a thematic network, established in 1996 that brings together more then 100 institutes in Europe in the field of women’s studies and gender research. It is funded by the European Commission, which has just approved a new cycle of three years full of activities, meetings, products and events. This new cycle, which started in October 2006, is called ATHENA3. The website for the MA course "Postcolonial Europe. Gender, Ethnicity and Migration" is the output of Athena, working group 'Postcolonial Europe. It aims at establishing the state of the art of postcolonial studies in/on Europe from a gender, ethnic and transnational perspective and is meant to be used as a source for bibliography, websites and critical references that address Europe from a postcolonial perspective in which national inflections and the specificities of gender and ethnicity are addressed.
