Debatrix
In debatrix the player tries to defeat her opponent by flinging arguments at him on a debating stage. Your opponents will try to do the same. The first character to suffer 5 hits, loses the game.
The Debatrix screen
The screen layout of this game is as follows:
The Debatrix (the player controlled character) can be seen left of the dividing wall, your opponent to the right. At certain times bonuses (small "E" symbols) as well as penalties (glowing red "-" symbols) will appear on screen. Picking these up or hitting them with an argument results in either a point bonus or penalty. These vary per level.
On higher levels your Debatrix will meet nastier opponents, they will be faster and the dividing wall will be lower, thus offering less protection.
Controls
- The debatrix can move left and right across the stage using the left and right cursor keys.
- Move your arm up and down with the up and down cursor keys. The higher your arm, the steeper the arc of your argument.
- Let your arguments rip with the space bar. You can only have one argument in the air at any time.
- The game can be paused and un-paused with the shift key.
